This is a placeholder and information regarding the domain name southernenvironmental.biz as well as the company Southern Environmental Landscaping Contractors, Inc.

The company Southern Environmental Landscaping Contractors, Inc. is not owned by the owner of this domain name, (southernenvironmental.biz)  Mr. Chad Freeborn.

The owner of this domain name was, however the founding president of the company Southern Environmental Landscaping Contractors, Inc along with the current owner Mr. Kyle McClary.

Mr. McClary approached Mr. Freeborn in the fall of 2012 about buying out Mr. Freeborn’s interest in the company. Agreement was made as well as contracts and at the end of 2012 Mr. Freeborn stepped away from the company.

Part of the agreement was that Mr. Freeborn would let the company stay in their current office location, that he owned, for only the paying of the monthly mortgage fee, along with agreeing that Mr. McClary could sublease part of the building to help him cover the cost.

Full payment for the purchasing of the company from Mr. McClary to Mr. Freeborn was to be completed by December 31st 2014, a two year monthly payment agreement was part of the contract. Unfortunately payments were behind during the first year of the payment schedule and very few were received during the second year, with payment stopping altogether. At this time nearly half of the purchasing price agreed and contracted upon is outstanding and it is obvious that Mr. McClary has no intent on honoring the agreement that he suggested, had drawn up, and enacted. It is believed that this was the initial plan since it was common for him to try and conceal other business endeavors during their partnership.

Mr. Freeborn stopped by the office location during early December 2014 to inquire about the fact that the office mortgage was still 8 months behind and when it would be caught up on. During this visit is when Mr. McClary was caught trying to move out of the building without any fore warning. Mr. McClary told Mr. Freeborn that he didn’t know how the behind balance was going to be paid since Mr. Freeborn owned the property and had made it clear to people who had inquired about the property that he was the owner and not Mr. McClary, who had been saying he was the property owner under false pretense.

The last word from Mr. McClary to Mr. Freeborn regarding payments due was made during a phone call a few weeks later and at the end of 2014 were Mr. McClary told Mr. Freeborn that he would get with him the second week of 2015 after they came back from Christmas break, and go over getting updated on the payments. During this same conversation Mr. McClary told Mr. Freeborn that he would make a portion of the restitution owed from his renting of the office that Southern Environmental was based out of, during the next couple of days to the mortgager since they were currently 8 months behind on payments.

Mr. Freeborn took this in good faith that Mr. McClary was going to try and make proper restitution and do right, however, Mr. Freeborn was incorrect.

The second week of January 2015 came and went and not a word from Mr. McClary as well as the fact that the mortgager never received the payment Mr. McClary said he was going to send that week. Mr. McClary saw Mr. Freeborn in passing, a total of 17 times during 2015 and not once mentioned the meeting on getting caught up payment that he had proposed for the second week of the year or the mentioning of the fact that he did not make any attempt on sending the mortgage payments that he said he was. Mr. McClary also saw Mr. Freeborn several times during early 2016 and never made any mention as well. Mr. Freeborn ended up loosing the office and shop that Southern Environmental had been based in due to the fact that the mortgage was 8 months behind and he did not have the ability to make up such a large amount. To make matters worse, Mr. McClary was subleasing the shop for nearly the amount of the mortgage, and had been since the buyout, and was not using that money to pay the payment but rather keep for himself.

The domain name fiasco.

During mid 2016 the domain name for Southern Environmental (southernenivornmental.biz) came up for auction on GoDaddy because it had not been renewed. This is the domain name that Mr. Freeborn originally set up for the company for it’s website and emails. Mr. Freeborn had relinquished all controls of this at his departure from the company and had no way of accessing it, within a couple of months of him leaving the company and while still helping the company on some government projects,  Mr. McClary had Mr. Freeborn’s email unknowingly revoked as well, without a word.

The domain evidently had expired in early 2016 and no attempt was made by Mr. McClary to renew it,  after a waiting period it was put up for auction by GoDaddy. Mr. Freeborn saw this and bid on the domain and won the bid. This was a worldwide auction and anyone could have purchased it. After another grace period the domain ownership was turned over to Mr. Freeborn and any previously associated website links or emails was discontinued by GoDaddy.

It was noted to Mr. Freeborn that Mr. McClary or someone in his staff was making Facebook posts and verbal comments that were telling people that the company emails and website had been “maliciously compromised” and that new emails had been setup. They were not maliciously compromised but rather were lost due to the fact that they didn’t pay the bill or bother to actually learn how to do something on their own. The website is still were ever they were hosting it at and the emails were terminated after the domain was purchased. Not to mention that this process of them loosing the domain name took approximately 3 months due to grace periods offered by GoDaddy. They would have been notified but chose not to address it.

Why did Mr. Freeborn purchase the domain name?

In part because his name is still attached to the company on so many things on the internet and he receives calls or messages several times a year about the poor workmanship that the company does or past due bills. By owning the domain name and installing the above information he can let people now that he is NOT associated with Southern Environmental.

As recently as late summer 2018 Mr. Freeborn had a couple find him and private message him on Facebook wanting help with a job that Southern Environmental had done at their home that was a total disaster and not what was agreed upon. Mr. Freeborn had to inform them that he did not own the company and was not associated with their work. They wondered how that all of the photos they had seen were so nice and the work that they had received was so poor. It was then discovered that the project photos that they had saw were mainly designs that Mr. Freeborn had done and oversaw and not the current work being done by the company.

Will Mr. Freeborn do any residential landscape work anymore?

It has been decided after a 6 year hiatus that Mr. Freeborn will In fact enter back into the residential landscaping market, although on a limited scale, in the fall of 2018. Projects will be based upon a first come first serve concept and the amount of projects taken on will be limited. To coincide with this and to maintain separation from Southern Environmental,  Mr. Freeborn will bring back the name of his original company before he merged with Mr. McClary to form Southern Environmental, “Yardmaster”.
